Get away from it all with a cheap flight
Going away for the weekend has a totally different meaning today than it did just a decade or two ago. It used to be a question of catching a train or packing up the car and driving for a few hours, but now it’s just as easy to get to your local airport and go and visit one of the most iconic cities in Europe.
The amazing number of destinations we can now get to from our local airport has really opened up over the last few years mainly because of the number of budget airlines in operation.
Whether you’re flying out of Leeds Bradford Airport or Exeter, to name just a couple of regional airports, you can fly to pretty much any country in Europe. Flights are so reasonable in price today that a trip to another country doesn’t have to be only an annual treat; you could go to a number of different places in a year for the same price that it used to cost to go on one trip.
And if you have children, you can really help them bring their history lessons to life by taking them to see some of the great cities of the world. For example, a trip to Rome – the Eternal City – would be sure to fire their imaginations as they’ll be able to do a tour of the Colosseum and see the Vatican City.
In a similar way, you could take a trip to Amsterdam and visit Anne Frank’s house to bring her amazing story to life for your children. Then, of course, there’s the beautiful city of Paris, with the fantastic sights such as the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Montmartre and the Palace of Versailles.
Of course, not every trip has to be about culture and history. You can also fly from regional airports to lots of beach and ski destinations. Mykonos Greece holidays have become very popular for those searching for a bit of sun while Chamonix-Mont-Blanc in France is great if you want to hit the slopes. Check out where you can go to from your local airport and make the most of cheap flights while they last!
